PROFILE OF THE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM IN PUBLIC HEALTH

The Undergraduate Program in Public Health at Mulawarman University was established in 2005 through the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education Number 2055/D/T/2005. At its inception, the Public Health Undergraduate Program was under the Technical Implementation Unit of Mulawarman University. In 2008, this unit was transformed into the Faculty of Public Health, Mulawarman University (FKM UNMUL) through Rector’s Decree Number 230/DT/2008. The Undergraduate Program in Public Health, FKM UNMUL, was accredited with an “Excellent” status in 2024 through the Decree of LAM-PTKes Number 0127/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/III/2024.

Vision:

"To become an Excellent Undergraduate Program in Public Health with National and Global Competitiveness in Public Health Science and Technology Based on the Tropical Rainforest by 2027."

Mission:

  1. To provide a high-quality Undergraduate Program in Public Health that produces graduates with noble character and competitiveness in facing the development of innovative and integrated technologies;

  2. To enhance research, publications, and intellectual property rights (IPR) in the field of public health based on tropical rainforests, involving the academic community of FKM Unmul and collaborative partners, with a focus on student development;

  3. To strengthen community service initiatives as solutions to public health problems by engaging the academic community of FKM Unmul and its collaborative partners;

  4. To expand cooperation and partnerships at national and international levels in supporting the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the field of public health

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) :

  1. Able to design and analyze public health programs in the development of sustainable public health service systems through multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches, prioritizing professional responsibility, integrity, and alignment with the characteristics of tropical rainforest regions.

  2. Able to demonstrate leadership in identifying solutions to public health pillar issues for the development of sustainable public health service systems through collaborative and adaptive approaches in line with the dynamics of tropical rainforest regions.

  3. Able to design and review public health research through data management, research, and scientific publications by applying determinant analysis, risk assessment, and public health technologies to develop sustainable public health innovations in tropical rainforest regions, based on integrity and scientific ethics.

  4. Able to design and analyze public health education programs and serve as professional health educators across all pillars of public health in tropical rainforest regions through interdisciplinary, creative, and integrity-based approaches.

  5. Able to design and analyze communication, information, and education initiatives based on collaboration to support public health programs at both community and policy levels in tropical rainforest regions, while upholding the values of justice, ethics, and morality.

  6. Able to develop and implement business ideas in the form of entrepreneurship through creative, innovative, and integrity-based approaches.

  7. Able to apply and analyze public health consultation services in tropical rainforest regions through multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches.

  8. Able to embody strong character grounded in the values of spirituality, morality, and Pancasila in community, national, and state life.

Total Credit Hours      : 144

Duration of Study       : 4 Years (8 semesters, 2 semesters/year)

                                    with the applicable regulations. (Health Policy and Administration,  Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health Nutrition, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, and Health Promotion)
